Negotiated Specialist Project - Development FolderThe Essence of ALL FM

Overview

ALL FM 96.9

ALL FM is a community radio station broadcasting to South and East Manchester.

The area that the station serves is very diverse and ALL FM represents that community very well. There are shows in several languages, women and men, young and old. There is a diverse mix of talk, current affairs and music broadcast throughout the week hosted by ordinary people from the area.

The station offers radio training and outreach programmes throughout the area.

ALL FM literally changes lives!

I trained at ALL FM in 2014, at a low point in my life. I started producing and presenting a weekly radio show there. This led to me going back to college and to studying for a BA (Hons) in Creative Media and Visual Communication - the very reason for this assignment. I trained at Key 103 in Manchester, Radio City in Liverpool and even became a reporter for BBC Radio Manchester. I became the very first President of The Manchester College Student Union.

My confidence has grown and my life has completely changed. All of this from training at ALL FM! I am one of many people whose lives have changed because of ALL FM. It is more than just a regular community radio station.

ALL FM recently became a charity and moved to a new location.

Title: The Essence of ALL FM

Topline: Community Radio in the heart of your community

Scene Breakdown:

The purpose of these films is to show what ALL FM does – community radio with a wide range of shows representing the whole community, plus the outreach work they do in the community.

Each film will include at least one testimonial from people whose lives have been affected by their involvement with ALL FM.

There will be two short, snappy films approximately 30 to 45 seconds long. Each film will follow the same the same format but with different contributors in each one.

These films are being made as part of a crowdfunding project in April 2018. They are designed to capture the essence of ALL FM and to make people contribute to the crowdfunding campaign. Being short and snappy, it means people will watch the whole thing, contribute to the campaign and share the video online.

Having two similar films means that the first film can be shared online, the second film can then be shared a week later. It means the campaign be stay fresh with more content that can be shared.

Each film should maybe have the web address as a watermark in the bottom right throughout most of the film.
